Eduardo Jesús Vargas Rojas was born 20 November 1989 is a Chilean soccer player who plays for Italian club Napoli, and the Chilean national team, as a winger. He started his career at Cobreloa in 2006, moved to the Universidad de Chile where he was top scorer as the team won the Copa Sudamericana in 2011 in addition to the Apertura and Clausura league season. He joined Napoli in 2012, spent much of his career so players on loan. A full international since 2010, Vargas has received more than 40 caps for Chile, scoring 22 goals. He was part of their squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2015 Copa América.

On January 23, 2014, Vargas joined La Liga club Valencia loan for the remainder of the 2013-14 season. Vargas played his first official match for Los Che in the 3-2 away win at the Camp Nou against champions FC Barcelona on 1 February 2014. He scored his first La Liga against Real Betis, in a 5-0 home victory.

On August 21, 2014, Vargas joined Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of the 2014-15 Premier League season. He made his debut for the club on September 14 against Manchester United, replacing Charlie Austin for the last 31 minutes at Old Trafford. On October 19, in a 2-3 loss against Liverpool at Loftus Road, Vargas scored twice after coming on as a substitute Bobby Zamora in the 78th minute of the match.

On June 11, 2015, Vargas scored for Chile in the opening match of the 2015 Copa América, 2-0 win over Ecuador at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago. In the next match the team, Vargas scored his second goal of the tournament, headed an equalizer as the hosts drew 3-3 with Mexico on June 15. In the semi-final against Peru, Vargas scored twice in a 2-1 win for Chile, the second of which is a long-distance effort, to send La Roja into the final.
